Jamocha Express brings the caffeine to you

In a town where coffee stands and kiosks are virtually anywhere one looks, is there room for a coffee shop on wheels?

Scharie Bostrom thinks so.

Jamocha Express cuts across the ingrained mode of espresso operation — build a coffee stop and they’ll come. Instead she’ll roll the coffee, espresso and other caffeinated favorites to her customers.

"I’m not trying to compete with the other coffee places," Bostrom says. "A lot people have places they like to go on the way to work, but once they get to work, a lot of people can’t really take off."

Starbucks breaches Great Wall of China

Starbucks' long march into China has breached the Great Wall itself. Tourists will be able to drink cappuccino, frappuccino and other coffee concoctions at one of China's greatest cultural treasures after the Seattle-based company announced it had opened a shop at Badaling, 47 miles north of Beijing.

Today's news comes five years after Starbucks penetrated the Forbidden City in Beijing, a move resented at the time by some Chinese who objected to the intrusion of such an instantly recognisable symbol of American consumerism inside the centuries-old palace complex and a national monument.

Move over Starbucks - the Israeli-style
espresso bar has arrived in NY

Whether it's the business world in Tel Aviv or New York City, productivity and success demand long hours and high levels of energy - and so the rich black fuel that both cities depend on is good, strong coffee.

That fuel is particularly tasty in the original Sicaffe espresso bar in the Ramat Hahayal neighborhood of Tel Aviv and, now in its offspring in the Wall Street and Upper East Side neighborhoods of Manhattan; a third branch will be opening in the coming weeks in the midtown Garment District.

Sicaffe, like many Israeli espresso bars, has taken the coffee establishment to another level, offering a special blend of rich Italian espresso, the central ingredient in a variety of coffee drinks, accompanied by delicate wraps and hearty sandwiches, and tempting flaky pastries.
