U of M team brewing up research over coffee

DO you double-double or order your latte grande? Well, if so, a research team from the University of Manitoba wants to take a coffee break with you.
Sonia Bookman, an assistant professor of sociology, and her research assistant, Sheryl Peters, are spending several weeks of their summer going into coffee shops to sit down and talk to coffee-drinking Winnipeggers about how they view coffee shops and the role they play in their lives.
Best of all, the coffee's on them.
"People are telling us how they engage in brands and how people view the coffee shop as a social place," said Bookman, whose similar research on the coffee scene in Toronto brewed her a PhD before coming to Winnipeg.
