Chaplain brings gourmet coffee to Camp Schwab, Okinawa

CAMP SCHWAB, Okinawa — Espresso, cappuccinos and lattes used to be more than an hour’s drive away for people stationed at Camp Schwab.

But with the opening of Schwabucks coffeehouse Friday, specialty coffee is a lot closer to home.

Schwabucks, in the USO on Camp Schwab, will serve free coffee to servicemembers 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays and 6-11 p.m. Fridays, said Lt. David Thames, the 4th Marines chaplain who helped establish the coffeehouse.
