Gifts for Coffee Lovers

I get asked often, "what is a good gift for a coffee lover?"

It's a difficult question to answer, without knowing the person's coffee habits and preferences. The closer one gets to the exalted status of "coffee snob" the easier it is to suggest gift ideas. I really enjoy my coffee tools. My wife calls them toys, but I like to think of them as tools. I roast my own coffee beans. I use a digital scale, a digital thermometer, and a home roaster. I grind. I brew. Sometimes I make espresso, but mostly I use a press pot to brew. These tools are essential, but there are many more on my "wish list.".

There are zillions of places to buy "serious coffee tools for serious coffee lovers." We have some great sponsors who advertise on this website. I would appreciate if you would look at them in your search for "serious tools.' Some of them pay this website a small commission and others pay us a fee for having their banners displayed. Shop from them and we all benefit. BCE gets a little, the store gets a little, and you get even more because you are buying from an established, reputable company.

The Internet is a great place for shopping. It covers the planet with stores. It offers really too much coverage because you don't always know your supplier. As most of us have discovered the hard way, the best price is seldom the best value. Buy from a supplier you can trust. Buy from someone who backs their products with a fair return policy and has a reputation for ethical business practices. They might charge a little more, but the overall value is much better.

Take a look at the banner ads on the upper left of our home page. Gourmet.org (Gourmet Kitchen) is a huge kitchen store, started in 1996 by gourmet chefs. It is now owned and operated by two guys who were in the hotel business before. Spend some time on their website. You'll find gifts for that coffee lover in your life, and probably some for yourself.

Coffee Stop is a partnership with Amazon.com and is "One Great Stop for All Your Coffee Stuff." You can find just about everything for coffee snobs or anyone who aspires to be one. One of my favorite lists on Coffee Stop is 'Everything You Need to Quit Going to Starbucks." You will find some of my favorite coffee tools and many I would like to have.
