A study published in the Nov. 1 American Journal of Epidemiology titled "Coffee Consumption and Cognitive Function among Older Adults" from the University of California, San Diego in La Jolla examined the effects of caffeine in coffee among older women.
Women 80-or more-years-old who were lifetime coffee-drinkers performed better on cognitive tests than women who were not. There was no relation found between coffee intake and cognitive function among men.
